"...Rabi Ibn Majed says: A person asked Ali Ibn Abitaleb: "O Commander of the Faithful how did you become the Prophet's inheritor without your uncles? He replied: The Messenger of God gathered some people around him and said: He invited Abdul Mutaleb's family and fed some people until they were no longer hungry. But no matter how much they ate the food looked like it was not touched and no matter much they drank it was as if the drinks were not touched. He then said: O children of Abdul Mutaleb I have been appointed as the Prophet for you specifically and for the people publicly. As a result you have seen it by your own eyes. Which one of you will show their allegiance to me so he could be my brother, friend (companion) and inheritor? No one stood but me. And I was the youngest. He said: take a seat.
He then said again sit down for every time I stood. Until it was the third time he took my hand and I showed my allegiance to him. Then Ali said: This is how I became my cousin's inheritor without the need of my uncle."

"...Zeyd Ibn Yasiq said that his father told him: The Messenger of God said: Children of Valiyah let it go or else I will send a man just like me to implement my orders and will fight with the people that fight against us and will get prisoners from them. Umar was behind me asked: Who are you referring to? I replied: I mean he is from you and your friend. He asked: Who is this person? I replied: He is the one that is sewing his shoe. He said: And Ali was sewing his shoe."

"...Abi Zobeyr says from Jaber: When the Prophet was returning of Umrah Jarane He sent Abubakr to Mecca and we went with him. We stayed at the Araj area and Abubakr invited to pray. When we had lined up to pray we heard a sound from behind. This sound was the Prophet's camel. We stopped from praying. Apparently the Prophet has begun the Hajj. So we assumed that the Prophet would start to pray and we would pray with him but we realised it was Ali. Abubakr told him: Are you the commander or are you bringing a message? He replied: No, The Messenger of God has asked me to read the Surat at Tawbah at the bearings of Hajj. So we went to Mecca. One day before the day the Tarviyah (The night of Arafa) Abubakr rose and made a speech for people regarding rituals. As soon as he finished Ali stood and read the Surat at Tawbah till the end. Once we were on the move on the first day Abubakr would give his speech and would teach people how to go to Mena and when he would finish Ali would get up and read the Surat at Tawbah till the very end."

and the other is my descendants and my Ahl al Bayt. So be careful with how to treat them after me because these two are inseparable until they return to me at Basin of Kawthar
He then said: Here forth God is my Master and I am the master of all believers. He then held Ali's hand and said: Whoever accepts me as his master, Ali is his Master. O Allah, please be favouring to those who are his friends, and be against those who are his enemies.
I asked Zeyd: Did you hear this from the Prophet?
He replied: There was no one in the Caravan that did not hear him or to see this happen."

"...Zeyd Ibn Yasiq said: I heard Ali say on the Kufeh pulpit: I swear to God on one man's life and I would never vouch his word unless it was the Prophet's companion that I heard The Messenger of God saying on the day of Ghadir: Whomever accepts me as his master, Ali is his Master. O Allah, please be favouring to those who are his friends, and be against those who are his enemies. Six people rose from the other side of the pulpit and testified that they heard what the Prophet said.
Sharik said that he told Abi Eshaq: Did you hear what Bara Ibn Azeb said: about the Prophet's doing? He replied: Yes."

"...Aisha Bint Asad told me that Saa'd told her: O Messenger of God we were on our way to Mecca and he was more concentrating on the path. When we got to Ghadir Khumm he told people to stop. He then returned the ones that had gone and the ones that were on their ways got there. Whenever people gathered around him he said: O people, who is your master? They replied: God and his Messenger (They said this three times). So then he held Ali's hand and raised it and said: Then whoever God and his Messenger is his Master this Ali is his master. God love whoever loves him and be the enemy of whoever that classes him as an enemy."

"...Halal Ibn Ala'a says that Arar said: I asked Abdullah Ibn Umar: Will you not speak of Ali and Usman for me? He replied: Ali's family is part of the Messenger of God's family so I will not speak anymore of him but Usman conducted a sin on the day of Ohod. It was a big sin and may God forgive him and he made a small mistake among you and you all killed him."

"...Na'aman Ibn Bashir said: Abubakr seeked the Prophet's permission and heard Aisha saying out loud: Now I completely understand that you love Ali more than me. Abubakr decided to slap her in the face and said: O Daughter of felana I see you raising your voice on the Messenger of God. The Messenger of God prevented him. Abubakr left with anger.
The Messenger of God said: O Aisha how did you see your father's ability to guide? She asked permission and after that The Messenger of God and Aisha came in peace. He said:
you did it."

"...Abdullah Ibn Bahr Hazrami says that his father that was one of Ali's pure friends said that Ali said: My status in the presence of The Messenger of God is like no other being. I would visit him every dawn and would say: Asalamu Aleykum O Chosen by God. If he was busy he would cough as a sign not to be interrupted otherwise he would allow me to enter and be by his side."

"...Abdul Rahman Ibn Abi Leyli said: Henceforth Ali would walk with winter clothes in summer and would wear summer clothes in winter. He drank some water and then wiped the sweat off his forehead. When narrator returned to his house he told his father: O father, the Commander of the Faithful acts very weird. He wears winter clothes in summer and summer clothes in winter.
Abu Leyli said: I do not believe this. So he held his son's hand and took Abdul Rahman and came to see Ali. He asked Ali: What have you done? Ali replied: When my eyes were hurting the Prophet asked for me and rubbed his saliva on my eyes and asked me to open my eyes. So I opened my eyes and since then I have not had any problem. He prayed for me and said: O Lord keep away any warmth or cold weather from him and since then I have not felt any warmth or cold."
